Birthright Hutt Valley

Birthright Hutt Valley provides practical and emotional support to single parents, including teenage parents and grandparents who are raising their grandchildren alone. The site also has a comprehensive list of service providers in the Hutt Valley for young families.

Great Start, Taita

If your a Grandparent raising Grandchildren come along to Great Start and meet others, share a cuppa, get information and advice on the first Friday of every month 11am-1pm. Fuss-free activities!

  • Go outside and cloud-watch, making up stories about what you see
  • Make up a story. You can take turns contributing one sentence at a time and keep going until the story has an ending
  • Let them educate you on the internet and Google! At the rate things change these days, chances are you'll learn a lot - about technology and about your grandchildren

If you can't laugh at yourself, who can you laugh at? Your kids, their kids ... their kids! (Oh dear, has that much time gone by?)
